Gimcheon ( Kor. 김천시 , in German 'Golden Spring') is a city in the South Korean province of Gyeongsangbuk-do . With just under 150,000 inhabitants, it is located northwest of Daegu near the provincial border with Chungcheongbuk .

Sports
The ATP Challenger Gimcheon has been held annually since 2014 as part of the ATP Challenger Tour . The 2018 V-League women's championship team , the Gyeongbuk Gimcheon Hi-pass, plays in the Gimcheon Arena . In 2014, Gimcheon hosted the Asian Badminton Championship .
