Lee Chul-seung (born June 29, 1972 in Gimcheon , South Korea ) is a former South Korean table tennis player who won several medals in the 1990s and early 2000s, mainly in doubles and team competitions at continental and world championships as well as at the Olympic Games.
Career
In 1992, Lee Chul-seung , who played in penholder style, was Asian champion in doubles with Kang Hee-chan and second in mixed with Ryu Ji-hae . This mixed pair also reached the final in 1998, in doubles he made it to the semi-finals, with the South Korean team he won silver. At the Asian ranking tournament Asia-Top8 he finished second behind the Chinese Wang Tao in 1993 .
From 1991 to 2003 Lee Chul-Seung took part in eight world championships . Here he was with the South Korean team in 1995 , 1997 and 2001 third. In 1995 he also reached the semi-finals with mixed with Ryu Ji-hae .
His most significant successes are the two bronze medals at the Olympic Games in doubles, in 1992 with Kang Hee-chan and 1996 with Yoo Nam-kyu . In the ITTF world rankings he finished 27th at the end of 2001.
In 2003, Lee Chul-Seung was signed by the German Bundesliga club TTC metabo Frickenhausen for one season, which he left in 2004 as agreed.
