Gyeongsan is a city in South Korea with 248,805 inhabitants. It is located in the Gyeongsangbuk-do province in the east of the country.
The city borders the megacity Daegu in the west and Daegu University is in Gyeongsan and not in Daegu itself. There are also eleven other universities in the city, such as Yeungnam University and the Catholic University of Daegu .
Gyeongsan is located on Expressway 1 , which connects Busan with Seoul .
The city was the venue for the 38th International Chemistry Olympiad from July 2, 2006 to July 11, 2006.
