Musa Moguschkow ( Russian Муса Хож-Ахматович Могушков ; born February 6, 1988 in Nazran ) is a Russian judoka who was third in the 2011 and 2014 World Cup.

Career

The 1.70 m tall Moguschkow competed in the half-light weight class until 2012, the weight class up to 66 kilograms. In 2007 he was third in the U20 European Championships, two years later he was third in the U23 European Championships. In 2010 he won the Grand Slam tournament in Moscow . In the same year he reached the final at the Grand Slam in Tokyo , where he was defeated by the Japanese Masaaki Fukuoka . In 2011 he finished fifth at the European Championships in Istanbul , two months later he won the Grand Slam in Rio de Janeiro . At the World Championships in Paris he was defeated in the semifinals to the Japanese Masashi Ebinuma , the battle for bronze he won against the British Colin Oates . At the Tokyo Grand Slam at the end of 2011, he defeated Masashi Ebinuma in the semifinals, but then lost to the Japanese Tomofumi Takajo in the final . At the 2012 Olympic Games in London, he lost his opening match against Tərlan Kərimov from Azerbaijan.

In 2013 Moguschkow switched to lightweight, the weight class up to 73 kilograms. At the 2014 World Championships in Chelyabinsk he was defeated in the quarterfinals by Victor Scvortov , who competed for the United Arab Emirates. Mogushkow won a bronze medal with victories in the round of hope over Rustam Orujov from Azerbaijan and Yertugan Torenov from Kazakhstan. In 2016 he won the Grand Slam tournament in Tyumen . In 2017 at the European Championships in Warsaw he defeated Rustam Orujov in the quarterfinals and the Israeli Tohar Butbul in the semifinals , and in the final he was defeated by Hidayət Heydərov from Azerbaijan. His best result in 2018 was third place at the Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi . In 2019 he won the mixed competition with the Russian team at the European Championships held in Minsk as part of the European Games . In October 2019 he won the Grand Slam in Brasilia .
