Jelena Viktorovna Ivashchenko
Jelena Viktorovna Iwaschtschenko ( Russian Елена Викторовна Иващенко ; born December 28, 1984 in Omsk as Jelena Viktorovna Schleise ; † June 15, 2013 in Tyumen ) was a Russian judoka .
Career
Ivashchenko was European champion in the weight class over 78 kilograms in 2007, 2009 , 2011 and 2012 . In 2006 and 2012 she also won the European team championship with the Russian women's judo team.
She was seven times Russian champion and won bronze medals at the 2007 and 2011 World Championships . In 2012 she finished seventh at the Summer Olympics in London .
On June 15, 2013, she was found dead in Tyumen, Western Siberia. According to the investigation authorities' first findings, she jumped out of a window on the 15th floor of a house.
