Alexandros Papadimitriou

Aléxandros Papadimitríou ( Greek Αλέξανδρος Παπαδημητρίου , born June 18, 1973 in Larisa ) is a Greek hammer thrower .

At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and at the World Athletics Championships in Athens in 1997 and in Seville in 1999 , he was eliminated from the qualification. In 2000 he was twelfth at the Olympic Games in Sydney .

The following year he failed again in the preliminary round of the World Championships in Edmonton and then won bronze at the Mediterranean Games. He also won bronze at the European Athletics Championships in Munich in 2002 , and he finished eighth at the 2003 World Championships in Paris-Saint-Denis.

At the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 and in Beijing in 2008 , the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005 , in Osaka in 2007 and in Berlin in 2009 and the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg, he did not get beyond the qualification.

Overall, he was national champion eleven times (1994–1997, 2000, 2002–2006, 2008).

His personal best of 80.45 m, achieved on July 9, 2000 in Athens , is the current Greek record.
