Soslan Tigiyev
Soslan Tigiyev ( Uzbek Soslan Tigiyev ; born October 12, 1983 in Tashkent ) is an Uzbek wrestler of Ossetian origin. He won at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing a silver medal and the Olympic Games 2012 in London , a bronze medal in welterweight freestyle. Because of proven doping, he was stripped of one Olympic medal acquired in 2008 and one in 2012.
Career
Soslan Tigiyev started wrestling at the age of nine in 1992, focusing on the free style. He comes from an Ossetian wrestling family. His brother Taimuras won a silver medal in free style light heavyweight at the 2008 Olympics . Soslan Tigiyev trains in the Uzbek wrestling center in Tashkent. His coach is Kazbeg Dedegkaev. The 1.72 meter tall athlete starts in the world or middleweight division . He studied agricultural science at the Gorsky State University in Vladikavkaz .
In the junior sector, he did not compete in any international championships. With the seniors he started for the first time in 2005 at such championships. He finished second behind the Chinese Si Riguleng at the Asian championship in Wuhan in welterweight . At the World Championships that year in Budapest he came in the welterweight division after victories over Harutjun Jenokjan, Armenia and Jussup Abdussalomow , Tajikistan and a loss to Joe E. Williams from the United States in 8th place.
In 2006 Soslan Tigiyev took 3rd place at the Asian Games in Doha in welterweight behind Ashgar Ali Basrighaleh from Iran and Cho Byung-kwan from South Korea . At the World Championships this year in Guangzhou , he was able to fully convince. There he defeated Sombir from India , but lost in his second fight against his Ossetian compatriot Ibrahim Aldatow , who started for the Ukraine . Then he won a bronze medal with victories over Lee Armstrong, Australia , Krystian Brzozowski from Poland and Michail Ganew from Bulgaria. Also in 2007 he started again at the World Cup. But he came in Baku after a victory over Andriy Shyyka from Germany and a defeat against Murad Hajdarau from Belarus only on the 24th place.
In 2008 he won the welterweight tournament in Martigny / Switzerland in front of Ashgar Ali Basrighaleh, Krystian Brzozowski and Kiril Tersiew from Bulgaria . For the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he got in shape with the help of doping . His victories over Ștefan Gheorghiță ( Romania ), Emzarios Bedinidis ( Greece ), Murad Hajdarau (Belarus) and Buwaissar Saitijew (Russia) were therefore subsequently canceled.
In the years 2009 to 2011 Soslan Tigiyev started in no international championships. In 2012 he managed to beat his compatriot Raschid Kurbanow , who had already qualified for the Olympic Games. Tigiev drove again to London.
