The megalithic complex Dólmen das Carniçosas is located in Portugal , in the municipality of Alhadas , in the district of Coimbra in the district of Figueira da Foz .

Found by the archaeologist António dos Santos Rocha , the dolmen is an anta that has been registered and protected as a Monumento Nacional since 1910 . Some finds from here can be seen today in the Museu Municipal Santos Rocha in Figueira da Foz. Anta is the Portuguese name for around 5000 megalithic structures or dolmens, which were built during the Neolithic in the west of the Iberian Peninsula by the successors of the cardial or imprint culture .

The dolmen consists of a forecourt, a connecting passage and a polygonal chamber. The chamber is about three meters in diameter, while the passage from the forecourt is about 4.5 meters long.

The Dólmen das Carniçosas is located on the highest point of the Serra das Alhadas and is one of the points on the Rota Megalitismo , a hiking trail dedicated to the megalithic culture within the themed hiking trails of the Figueira da Foz district.
