The Bureälven is a river south of Skellefteå in the Swedish province of Västerbotten County .
The river has its origin south of Bastuträsk in the Övre Burträsket . From there it flows in a southeastern direction to Lake Burträsket and then continues in a northeastern direction. At Bureå the Bureälven flows into the Gulf of Bothnia . In the upper reaches the river is also called Buran .
The river length is 80 km. The catchment area covers 1045.6 km².
