Gábor Hatos
Gábor Hatos (born October 3, 1983 in Eger ) is a Hungarian wrestler . He has won five medals in free style at world and European championships so far.
Career
Gábor Hatos started wrestling as a teenager in 1995 in his hometown. He belongs to the sports club Halades VS Eger and is trained by István Gulyas and István Veréb. He prefers the free style. The stocky, black-haired and only 1.68 meters tall athlete has the nickname "Pitbull" because of his uncompromising way of ringing. He started at the beginning of his career in lightweight and since 2004 in welterweight . His profession is z. Currently wrestler. That is why he has also started for the Swiss club RR Hergiswil , KSV Aalen and SV Untergriesbach . In the 2012/13 season he was now active for SV Wacker Burghausen . Since the 2013/14 season he has been wrestling for TUS Adelshausen. He is five times Hungarian welterweight champion (free style).
Gábor Hatos' international career began in 1998 when he took part in the World Junior Championships (Cadets) in Manchester . He started there in the weight class up to 69 kg and reached 14th place. In the following years he started in the junior division at another six international championships. He only won a medal at the 2003 Junior World Championships in Istanbul . He won it there in welterweight by a victory in the consolation round over Soslan Gattsijew from Belarus , after he had lost there after four wins in the semifinals against Misam Amini from Iran .
With the seniors he started in 2001 in Budapest for the first time at an international championship (European championship). He won there in the lightweight in his first fight over the British Nathanael Ackerman, but was defeated in his next fight by the experienced Irbek Walentinowitsch Farnijew from Russia , with which he was eliminated and finished in 14th place. In the following years he then took part regularly in the European and World Championships and he also started at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens . However, he was denied good placements. Quite surprisingly, he then won a bronze welterweight medal at the 2006 European Championships in Moscow . On the way to this medal, he defeated Fahrettin Özata, Turkey and Salvatore Rinella , Italy , then lost to Ruslan Kokajew , Russia and finally defeated Anis Gharbi from France .
Then it was until 2010 before he won his next medal. He finished 3rd at the World Championships in Moscow that year . He defeated Butahan Demircin, Turkey, Alexander Motyl, Belarus and Kiril Tersiew , Bulgaria , lost to Denis Zargusch from Russia and won over Krystian Brzozowski from Poland . In 2011 and 2012, Gábor Hatos won two further medals at the European Championships in Dortmund and Belgrade , namely the bronze medals. In Dortmund he defeated Philipp Crepaz, Austria , lost to Denis Zargusch and won against Luca Lampis from Italy and Agil Gulijew from Azerbaijan. In Belgrade he took 3rd place behind Denis Zargusch and Dawit Chutishvili , Georgia and ahead of Alexander Gozijew, Azerbaijan and Oleg Bilozerkowski from Ukraine .
In 2012, Gábor Hatos qualified for the Olympic Games in London with a 2nd place at the tournament in Taiyuan / China . There he won victories over Zhang Chongyao from China and Abdulhakim Schapijew from Kazakhstan. After a defeat against Sadegh Saeed Goudarzi from Iran, he then had the chance to win a bronze medal in the consolation round by defeating Soslan Tigijew from Uzbekistan . He lost this fight but just on points and finished 5th. However, since the latter was subsequently disqualified for doping, he received the bronze medal.
