Albert Batyrau
Albert Georgijewitsch Batirow (born November 2, 1981 in Ordzhonikidze , North Ossetian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic ) is a Belarusian wrestler . In 2007 he was European champion in free style in lightweight .
Career
Albert Batirow comes from a widespread Caucasian wrestling family ( Mawlet Batirow , Adam Batirow, Shamil Batirow). He started wrestling in Vladikavkaz in 1988, focusing on free style. With a height of 1.65 meters, he always wrestled in the lightweight as an adult. Wrestling is also his profession at the moment. At the beginning of his career he started for Russia. He also took part in the Junior World Championship (Cadets) in New Delhi in 1997 for this country and came in second in the weight class up to 57 kg.
In the following years he was one of the best Russian freestyle wrestlers in the lightweight class, but was never able to qualify for participation in another international championship. He therefore moved to Belarus at the beginning of 2005 and has since worked for Dynamo Grodno , where he is trained by Oleg Gogel. Already in April 2005 he was used at the European Championships in Varna and won there with victories over Panagiotis Makrinas, Greece and Mehmet Macit, Turkey, a defeat against Serafim Barzakow , Bulgaria and further victories over Adrian Mazan, Poland and Suren Markosjan , Armenia Bronze medal . At the 2005 World Cup in Budapest, he first won over Elman Asgarow, Azerbaijan, but then lost to Geandry Garzón Caballero , Cuba. Since this did not reach the final, he was eliminated and only came in 17th place.
In 2006 Albert Batirow became vice European champion in Moscow. He defeated Omer Cubukcu, Turkey, Wadim Guigolajew, France and Anisim Talambat, Moldova and only lost in the final battle against Makhach Murtasalijew , Russia. At the 2005 World Championships in Guangzhou win over Pietro Piscitelli, Italy, Bujandschawyn Batdsorig , Mongolia and Elman Asgarow. Then he lost to Bill Zadick from the United States and in the battle for a world championship bronze medal in a tough fight (1: 2 rounds, 7:12 points) also against Geandry Garzon Caballero. In 2007 he succeeded in becoming the European lightweight champion in Sofia. He defeated Stefan Daniliuc, Romania, Pietro Piscitelli, Apostolos Taskoudis, Greece, Ramazan Şahin , Turkey and Irbek Walentinowitsch Farnijew , Russia. Things went less well for him at the World Cup this year in Baku, because after a victory over Jung Young-ho, South Korea, he met Irbek Farniev, who was able to reciprocate for the defeat at the European Championship and defeated Albert Batirow. Irbek Farnijew did not reach the final, so Albert Batirow was eliminated and only came in 21st place.
In 2008 he reached at the European Championships in Tampere after a victory over Gregory Ferreiro, France and a defeat against Andrei Stadnik from Ukraine only the 11th place, but was then able to participate in a 3rd place at the qualifying tournament in Martigny qualify for the Beijing Olympics. In Beijing he won over Yang Chun-song, North Korea, but then lost again to Andrei Stadnik. Since this came into the final, he was able to continue wrestling in the consolation round, but lost immediately to Sushil Kumar from India and therefore ended up in 9th place.
In 2009 Albert Batirow was only used at the World Championships in Herning, Denmark. He lost there against his feared opponent Geandry Garzon Caballero and only came in 20th place. In 2010 he had a similar experience. He lost at the World Cup in Moscow in his first fight against Shirayr Hovhannisjan from Armenia and ended up in 21st place. In 2012 he was used again at the European Championships in Belgrade and came in 10th there. Ali Schabanau started for Belarus at the 2012 Olympic Games in London .
