South Korean National Soccer Team / Olympic Games

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The South Korean national soccer team took part in the 1948 Olympic Games in London for the first time, played their first international match there and beat Mexico 5: 3 . In the quarterfinals, the team was eliminated with 0:12, the biggest defeat to date against the eventual Olympic champion Sweden. After not taking part in 1952, the team was only able to qualify again in 1964, but was eliminated in the first round. After that, they only took part again in 1988 as an automatically qualified host, but were then the only country to always qualify. The best result so far is winning the bronze medal in 2012.
