Kwon Chang-hoon ( kor. 권창훈 ; born June 30, 1994 in Seoul ) is a South Korean football player . He is under contract with the German Bundesliga club SC Freiburg and is a South Korean national player.

Career

Kwon Chang-hoon started his career in April 2013 with Suwon Samsung Bluewings in the K League Classic . At the end of the season he had eight goalless appearances. In the 2014 season he was finally able to achieve his first goal in the top South Korean league when he netted against the Pohang Steelers on matchday 18 to make it 4-1. However, this remained his only goal in 20 games this season. Suwon finished the season second behind Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors . In the 2015 season , Kwon was the second top scorer of his team with ten goals in 35 games behind the Brazilian Santos (12 hits). Suwon finished the season just like last season in second behind Jeonbuk.

The 2016 season was less successful for Kwon and Suwon. Kwon was able to achieve seven goals in 27 games, but Suwon had to continue playing in the relegation round as tenth after the regular season. In this one then achieved three wins and two draws and thus ended the game year in 7th place with nine points ahead of the relegated, Suwon FC .

In January 2017 he moved to France for the first division club FCO Dijon . There he was first used in three games of the reserve, which played in the fourth French league , before he became a regular in the professional team. With the club, he achieved 61 appearances and thirteen goals scored in the two and a half seasons, each placing in the bottom of the table, in 2018/19 the league was only secured by relegation .

The midfielder moved to the German Bundesliga club SC Freiburg for the 2019/20 season .

National team

Kwon Chang-hoon played for various South Korean youth selections. With the U-17 team he took part in qualifying for the 2010 Asian Cup in Uzbekistan . However, as fourth in the group, the final round was missed. From October 2011 he was a member of the U-20 team and took part in the 2012 Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates . On the way to the title, Kwon was on the field in five of the six games and contributed a goal to the 4-1 victory in the quarter-finals against Iran . South Korea thus qualified for the 2013 U-20 World Cup in Turkey , in which he also took part and scored two goals.

From 2015 Kwon was repeatedly in the squad of the U-23 team , including at the 2016 Asian Cup in Qatar . In all six games he was used and helped with his five goals, u. a. a hat trick in the group game against Yemen - the team to move into the final, which was lost 3-2 to Japan . With second place, Kwon qualified for the 2016 Olympic soccer tournament in Rio de Janeiro . In the last group game against Mexico, he scored the decisive goal for the 1-0 victory in the 73rd minute and thus to reach the quarter-finals, in which South Korea lost 1-0 to Honduras.

Kwon made his debut for the senior national team of South Korea on August 2, 2015 in the first game of the finals of the East Asian Cup . He was then used in four qualifying games for the 2018 World Cup . In the two games against Laos and Lebanon , he scored his first three international goals. For the World Cup finals in Russia , he was named to the provisional squad by coach Shin Tae-yong in May 2018 , but had to cancel due to an injury.
