Niclas Thiede (born April 14, 1999 in Hagen ) is a German soccer player . The goalkeeper has been under contract with Bundesliga club SC Freiburg since 2018 .
Career
Thiede played in his youth for a number of clubs in the Ruhr area , most recently from 2015 to 2018 in the B and A youth for VfL Bochum , where he also made several appearances in German U-national selections. In 2018 he moved to SC Freiburg and was initially part of the second team in the Regionalliga Südwest. For the 2019/20 season, he moved up as the third goalkeeper in the Bundesliga team. Thiede made his debut on October 19, 2019 in a 2-0 defeat in the away game against Union Berlin in the Bundesliga after substitute goalkeeper Mark Flekken missed the game due to illness and regular goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow had to be replaced in the middle of the first half due to injury.
