Florian Kath (born October 21, 1994 in Balingen ) is a German soccer player . The midfielder is under contract with SC Freiburg .

Career

Florian Kath has played in the youth team at TSG Balingen since he was five and moved up to the Balingen Oberliga squad for the 2012/13 season , although still a junior , where he quickly established himself as a regular player. Through his performances, several higher-class clubs became aware of the talent and Kath moved to SC Freiburg in summer 2013 , where he initially played for the regional league team. Originally a full-back , he was used more offensively over time. In January 2015, after the departure of Sebastian Freis , Kath surprisingly took part in the winter training camp of the Freiburg professionals and finally made his debut in the Bundesliga on February 15, 2015 in a 2-0 away win against Hertha BSC as a substitute . In the 2016/17 season he was loaned to 1. FC Magdeburg in the 3rd division and returned to Freiburg at the end of the season. There he scored his first Bundesliga goal in a 2-1 win against 1. FSV Mainz 05 on November 25, 2017 (13th matchday).
