Manuel Gulde (born February 12, 1991 in Mannheim ) is a German soccer player who has been under contract with SC Freiburg since the 2016/17 season .

Career

The defender began his career at SC Pfingstberg-Hochstätt and then moved to VfL Neckarau . Together with Pascal Groß and Marco Terrazzino , he moved to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in 2007 , where he became German champions in 2008 with the B-youth (U-17) . In the following year and a half, Manuel Gulde suffered two metatarsal fractures and was out for a total of eleven months. On January 24, 2010, he came to his first Bundesliga appearance for Hoffenheim when he came on for Carlos Eduardo in the 75th minute of the game against Bayer Leverkusen . In the game against Borussia Mönchengladbach on February 19, 2010 Gulde was on the starting line-up for the first time.

In February 2011, Manuel Gulde extended his contract with the Kraichgauer for two years until June 2013. In the summer of 2012, Gulde moved to SC Paderborn 07 , where he signed a one-year contract until June 30, 2013 with an option for another season. On the 5th match day he made his debut in the game at Erzgebirge Aue .

In the summer break of 2013, Gulde moved to the second division promoted Karlsruher SC . He signed a contract dated 2015. After repeated setbacks, he played for the club for the first time on December 20, 2013 for a few seconds in the 2-0 victory at FC St. Pauli . He scored his first goal for Karlsruhe on August 23, 2014, the 3rd matchday of the 2014/15 season, in a 2-0 away win against Fortuna Düsseldorf .

For the 2016/17 season , Gulde moved to the Bundesliga for newly promoted SC Freiburg . There he scored his first Bundesliga goal in the 1: 2 away defeat against Hannover 96 on February 10, 2018 (22nd matchday).

National team

Gulde went through all youth national teams from the U16 to the U20 . In 2008 he was awarded the Fritz Walter Medal by the DFB as the best young player in the U17 age group.
