Daniel Halfar (born January 7, 1988 in Mannheim ) is a former German soccer player and current coach .

Club career

youth

Halfar began playing soccer at MFC Phoenix Mannheim 02 and in 1997 switched to the 1. FC Kaiserslautern youth team . As a U-17 junior, he was awarded the Fritz Walter Medal in silver in 2005.

1. FC Kaiserslautern

In Kaiserslautern he first played in the regional league team during the 2005/06 season before playing for the first time in the Bundesliga on December 11, 2005 against Bayern Munich . At the end of 2005 he signed a professional contract with FCK that ran until June 30, 2010 . He scored his first two Bundesliga goals on February 4, 2006 when 1. FC Kaiserslautern played at MSV Duisburg . With these two goals he was the youngest scorer in the Bundesliga for 1. FC Kaiserslautern (18 years, 28 days). At the same time, he was the youngest player to have scored two goals in a game in the Bundesliga.

After a successful operation on his back, Halfar returned to training in July 2007. A few days later he was banned from training the professional team for disciplinary reasons.

Arminia Bielefeld

At the end of August 2007 he moved to the first division club Arminia Bielefeld , with whom he was relegated from the Bundesliga in 2009. In total, Halfar completed 73 games and scored one goal.

Daniel Halfar 2010

TSV 1860 Munich

In the summer of 2010 he moved to TSV 1860 Munich , where he signed a two-year contract until June 30, 2012. On the second day of the match he made his debut there at the home game against VfL Osnabrück when he came on for Daniel Bierofka .

He benefited in the first half of the season from Stefan Aigners and in the second half of Daniel Bierofka's failure and secured his regular place in the attacking left midfield. At the beginning of the second half of the season he had to take a break for two months due to a hairline crack in his right foot. He played 23 times for 1860 that season and scored two goals. He gave nine assists, most of them within the team. In 2012/13 Halfar made 27 appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga. In the spring of 2013, he was out for several weeks due to bone edema .

1. FC Cologne

In the summer of 2013 Halfar moved from TSV 1860 Munich to 1. FC Köln , with whom he signed a three-year contract. He scored his first two goals on March 1, 2014, the 23rd matchday, in a 2-2 away game against Erzgebirge Aue . With the Cologne team he became champions of the second division in the 2013/14 season and was promoted to the Bundesliga.

Return to Kaiserslautern

For the 2015/16 season Halfar returned to 1. FC Kaiserslautern. He signed a contract valid until 2018. His contract was not renewed after the end of the 2017/18 season. Halfar had to end his playing career due to a hip damage.
