Timo Königsmann (born April 5, 1997 in Hanover ) is a German soccer goalkeeper who is under contract with SV Waldhof Mannheim . In addition, he is a former young German national player.

Career

Königsmann was born in Hanover and trained in the area in Laatzen at FC Rethen and at SV Germania Grasdorf. As a ten-year-old Hannover 96 accepted him in its youth training center. With the C-youth of the club, he took part in the Matthias Pape Memorial Indoor Tournament in 2012 and was voted best goalkeeper.

At the age of 17, Königsmann, who was awarded the Fritz Walter Bronze Medal in 2014 in the U17 age group, played for the first time in men's football when he stood between the posts for Hanover's second team in the Regionalliga Nord . In the 2014/15 season , he played 21 full-time games, but had to take a short break due to a broken finger. On four match days of the same season he was also in the Bundesliga squad as a backup for Ron-Robert Zieler . Then the goalkeeper spent his final A-Youth-year Hanover U19 with which he for a 4: 2 over the A-juniors from Hertha BSC the DFB Juniors Cup won; in the final, however, his teammate Toni Neubauer guarded the goal.

In the summer of 2017, Königsmann moved to SpVgg Greuther Fürth , for whose regional league team he only appeared nine times.

During the winter break of the third division 2018/19 season , VfR Aalen signed him for Daniel Bernhardt's goalkeeping team . However, Königsmann was not used and rose at the end of the season with the team in the Regionalliga Südwest , whereupon he left the club again.

Within the following summer transfer window, the goalkeeper signed a two-year contract with third division promoted SV Waldhof Mannheim . From the 6th day of play he represented the injured goalkeeper Markus Scholz and was again represented by Miro Varvodić for two game days after his own injury . From the 15th matchday, Königsmann was back in the Waldhöfer's goal.

National team

Königsmann played 19 games for the DFB's junior national teams. With the U17 he took part in the European Championship 2014 , but retired with the team in the group stage. In April 2015 he completed an elite goalkeeping course at the DFB under the direction of national goalkeeping coach Andreas Köpke .
