Jan Just (born September 14, 1996 in Mainz ) is a German soccer player . The defender is under contract with SV Waldhof Mannheim .
Career
Just played for 1. FSV Mainz 05 in his hometown until the B-youth and then completed his football training in the U19 Bundesliga team of 1. FC Kaiserslautern . Although he was in defense of the red devils , he moved to the southwest region alligist Wormatia Worms in the summer of 2015 , with whom he received a one-year contract. Just played nine league games for Worms, two of them from the start, and was ninth with the team at the end of the season.
Then the defender moved a league deeper into the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz / Saar , where he signed a two-year contract with TSV Schott Mainz . Just made 31 competitive appearances in his first season, was used as a full-back and in right midfield. He was able to score and prepare four goals each, in the Southwest Cup he reached the semi-finals with the team, where they were defeated by his old club Wormatia Worms. In the league, however, as a champion, he was promoted to the fourth division, in which Just was able to establish himself as a regular in defense and only missed three season games. However, being penultimate in the table, Schott Mainz had to relegate again in spring 2018, which is why Just left the club.
The reigning vice-champion SV Waldhof Mannheim then took him under contract and tied him for two years. Just was first in the back four with captain Kevin Conrad , Michael Schultz and Mete Çelik , but then broke a toe at the end of September 2018 and was out for the rest of the season. In his absence, the Waldhof lost the final of the Südbadenpokal , but was able to become champions in the league with a 21-point lead and move up to the third division . After a cruciate ligament rupture in preparation, the defender fell out again for the long term and was only able to stand on the field for the team on matchday 29, which took place in early June 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic . Just's contract in Mannheim was extended for another year on June 21, 2020.
