Career

In the club

Begins in Strasbourg and Freiburg

Gouaida started playing football in the youth of Racing Strasbourg . 2011 Strasbourg football school had to close, and Gouaida joined the football school of SC Freiburg . With the A-youth he won the DFB-Junior-Pokal . For the 2012/13 season he moved up to the second team . There he scored a goal in 22 games in his first season in the men's area. In the 2013/14 season , in which Gouaida scored three goals in 17 games, the team took second place in the table, but refrained from participating in the promotion round to the third division .

Bundesliga debut at Hamburger SV

For the 2014/15 season Gouaida moved to the second team of Hamburger SV . In the first half of the season he scored six goals in 17 games in the Regionalliga Nord and thus contributed to the U23 autumn championship. On November 23, 2014, under coach Josef Zinnbauer , who had been his coach in the second team at the beginning of the season, he made his professional debut in the 2-0 win in the north derby against Werder Bremen over the full playing time in the Bundesliga . He is the first French player to play for HSV in the Bundesliga. At the end of April 2015, Gouaida received a professional contract with a term until June 30, 2018.

On loan in Karlsruhe and St. Gallen

At the beginning of the 2015/16 season , Gouaida was not taken into account by coach Bruno Labbadia in the first three competitive games. Instead, he made three appearances in the second team. In order to gain match practice at a higher level, Gouaida was loaned to Karlsruher SC on August 26, 2015 until the end of the season in the 2nd Bundesliga .

For the 2016/17 season , Gouaida extended his contract term with HSV until June 30, 2019 and switched to the Swiss Super League for a year on loan to FC St. Gallen, which was coached by Josef Zinnbauer . There he had 13 missions by mid-April. After Zinnbauer was fired in early May 2017, he no longer played a role under the new coach Giorgio Contini .

Return to Hamburger SV

From the end of June 2017, Gouaida completed a trial training session with the Austrian Bundesliga club SKN St. Pölten . After a commitment had not come about, he was released from the HSV to search for a club. At the end of July Gouaida finally returned to HSV, but was not included in the first team's squad by Markus Gisdol , but instead integrated into the second team (U21). After scoring three goals in 17 regional league appearances, he was released for a few days at the end of November 2017 to complete a trial training session with the Danish first division club Odense BK . However, there was no obligation in the winter transfer period.

After the U-21 coach Christian Titz took over the professionals in March 2018, Gouadida was pulled back into the professional squad. On March 31, 2018, Gouaida played for HSV in the Bundesliga for the first time in three years when he was in the starting line-up in the 1-1 draw against VfB Stuttgart . There were no more missions until the end of the season. In the second team, Gouaida came to a total of 32 missions, in which he scored nine goals. While he was runner-up in the Regionalliga Nord with the second team, he had to compete with the professionals for the first time HSV entered the 2nd Bundesliga .

Via Sandhausen to Mannheim

After the HSV professionals were relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga , Gouaida switched to league rivals SV Sandhausen for the 2018/19 season . There he could not prevail under the head coaches Kenan Kocak and Uwe Koschinat . Gouaida completed three second division games for the club, which played against relegation over the entire season.

For the 2019/20 season, Gouaida switched to third division promoted SV Waldhof Mannheim , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 30, 2021.

National team

Due to his dual citizenship , Gouaida was eligible to play for the Tunisian and French football associations . In March 2015, he was appointed to the squad of the Tunisian national team for the first time by Georges Leekens . Gouaida made his international debut on March 27, 2015 when he came on for Änis Ben-Hatira in the 69th minute of the 2-0 friendly defeat by Japan . Gouaida made his first competitive appearance on June 12, 2015, when he came on for Ali Maâloul in the 84th minute of the 8-1 win against Djibouti on the first matchday of qualifying for the Africa Cup 2017 . A change of dressing is no longer possible for Gouaida.
