Keven Schlotterbeck (born April 28, 1997 in Weinstadt ) is a German football player . The central defender is under contract with SC Freiburg .

Career

Schlotterbeck played in the youth team of the Stuttgarter Kickers until 2012 and then moved to the U17 of TSG Backnang in 1919 . Two years later he moved to the U19 of VfL Kirchheim / Teck , where he only stayed a year before returning to TSG Backnang. After two years in the association league, in 2017 he moved to the second team of SC Freiburg , with whom he played in the Regionalliga Südwest . A year later he was appointed to the professional squad of SC Freiburg, but missed the pre-season due to a ligament injury. He made his professional debut on February 3, 2019 when he came on as a substitute for Manuel Gulde at VfB Stuttgart (2-2) . He then played eight games in a row over the full playing time , sometimes due to injury problems with the central defenders Manuel Gulde and Philipp Lienhart .

For the 2019/20 season, Schlotterbeck moved to Bundesliga promoted 1. FC Union Berlin on loan for a year . There he was able to fight for a regular place in central defense for the second half of the season and held the class with the club.

Kevens uncle Niels was also active as a professional soccer player and played for the Stuttgarter Kickers , SC Freiburg and Hannover 96 in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga . His younger brother Nico and his cousin Marvin Zimmermann (* 1999) are also soccer players.
