The Grand Canyon Antelopes , also known as Lopes, are the 21 sports teams that represent Grand Canyon University in Phoenix , Arizona . Most of the university's teams compete in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) at the NCAA Division I level . The men's volleyball team is an exception, as it has been competing in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) since the 2017-18 academic year . The beach volleyball team takes part in tournaments as "independent", ie without affiliation.
