The brook arises in the Osterheuland nature reserve - In den Erlen southwest of Verlar , a district of Salzkotten , from the union of the Störmeder Bach and the Geseker Bach. It flows from there in a northerly direction and flows northeast of Garfeln , a district of Lippstadt , into the Lippe.
