The Osterheuland - In den Erlen nature reserve is located in the area of the cities of Geseke and Lippstadt in the Soest district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
It extends north of the core town of Geseke and south of Verlar , a district of the town of Salzkotten . The state road L 549 runs through the area in a north-south direction , the L 636 runs not far to the north. In the area, the Störmeder Bach merges with the Geseker Bach to form the Brandenbaumer Bach .
