The Margaretensee nature reserve is located in the city of Lippstadt in the Soest district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The area extends northeast of the core city of Lippstadt, south of Lipperbruch and north of Lipperode directly on the B 55 on the western edge and directly on the Boker-Heide Canal, which runs south and east . The state road L 782 runs not far to the east and the 149.65 ha large nature reserve Zachariassee extends to the northeast .
