societies
1. FC Kaiserslautern
Heintz had started playing football in the youth team at SV Herta Kirrweiler before moving to the youth team at 1. FC Kaiserslautern in 2001. On September 17, 2011, Heintz, who at that time belonged to the older age group of the A-youth , made his men's debut in the 3-0 defeat against SC Verl in the second team of 1. FCK. Four days later he signed a professional contract with a term until June 30, 2015. However, he was initially only used in the second team (U-23) and the A-youth (U-19), for which he was used up to and including the season 2011/12 was eligible to play.
Heintz made his professional debut on the last day of the 2011/12 Bundesliga season when he came on for Ariel Borysiuk in the 77th minute of FCK's 2-1 defeat in the away game at Hannover 96 . The season ended with the descent of the Lauterer in the 2nd Bundesliga . From the following season 2012/13, Heintz was regularly used for the professional team. With the 3rd place in the table in 2013 and a subsequent unsuccessful relegation , as well as two fourth places in 2014 and 2015, Heintz and his club narrowly missed promotion to the Bundesliga.
1. FC Cologne
For the 2015/16 season he moved to Bundesliga club 1. FC Köln . He scored his first Bundesliga goal on September 12, 2015, the 4th match day, in the 2-6 away defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt with a header to make it 2-5. In February 2016, Heintz extended his contract in Cologne until 2021. In the 2017/18 season , he finished last in the table with the club and was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga.
Sc freiburg
In the 2018/19 season, Heintz switched to SC Freiburg via an exit clause . There he immediately became a top performer on the defensive and did not miss a single competitive game in his first season at the sports club.
National team
Heintz already played for the German U18 and U19 national team . He was nominated for the first time by DFB-U20 coach Frank Wormuth for the international match in Aachen on October 10, 2012 against Italy, but Heintz had to cancel due to muscular problems. On September 9, 2014 he made his debut in the European Championship qualifier against Romania in the U21 national team under coach Horst Hrubesch . He scored his first goal for the U21 team in the friendly against the Netherlands on November 13, 2014.
Personal
Since childhood he has suffered from a misalignment of the back, which he says was caused by growing too quickly during childhood. Heintz married his partner Laura in the summer of 2017. He describes himself as a devout Catholic and occasionally organizes charity football matches with singer Pietro Lombardi under the slogan "Kick for Kids".
