Janik Haberer (born April 2, 1994 in Wangen im Allgäu ) is a German football player who plays in the central midfield , but is also often used as a center forward.
Career
Haberer switched from FC Memmingen to SpVgg Unterhaching in January 2011 at the age of 16 . There he first played in the B-Youth and was then used in the 2011/12 season at the age of 17 in the A-Youth in the U-19 Bundesliga . There he drew attention to himself with a good development. Therefore, he denied the preparation for the second half of the season with the professional team from January 6th and convinced coach Heiko Herrlich .
Although he was still eligible to play for the U-19s, Haberer made his debut for the professional team in the third division at the age of 17 years, ten months and two days in the 2011/12 season when he played on February 4, 2012, the 24th matchday of the Season, in the away game against Chemnitzer FC (1: 5) in the starting line-up. In April 2012, Haberer signed his first professional contract with SpVgg. On the last game day of the 2011/12 season, Haberer scored his first professional goal in the 74th minute in the away game against 1. FC Saarbrücken (2-4).
During the winter break of the 2014/15 season , Haberer moved to the Bundesliga for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . On January 17, 2014, he signed a contract for four and a half years until June 30, 2018. In his first season in Hoffenheim, Haberer was only used in the second team in the fourth-class Regionalliga Südwest .
In order to gain match practice at a higher level, Haberer was loaned to VfL Bochum for the 2015/16 season in the 2nd Bundesliga .
For the 2016/17 season , Haberer moved to the newly promoted Bundesliga SC Freiburg . Haberer scored his first Bundesliga goal in the 1-1 draw against Bayer 04 Leverkusen on matchday 13 of the season.
