The FV 1893 Ravensburg is a football club in Ravensburg, Upper Swabia . The club, founded in 1893, had its most successful period in the 1970s and 1980s. In 1978 he qualified for the newly founded Oberliga Baden-Württemberg , to which he belonged until relegation to the Association League Württemberg as the table penultimate in 1983. The promotion to the upper house of Baden-Wuerttemberg succeeded in 1998. After the renewed relegation of the upper league in 2000, the club went down to the state league Württemberg . In 2013 he returned to the Baden-Württemberg Oberliga through relegation.
In the 2015/16 season, FV Ravensburg won the WFV Cup with a 5-2 final victory over FSV 08 Bissingen . With this, the club secured a place in the first main round of the DFB Cup of the 2016/17 season , in which the club lost 2-0 to FC Augsburg in the Geberit Arena in Pfullendorf .
On July 19, 2018, the club celebrated its 125th anniversary with a test match against the Bundesliga club and cooperation club SC Freiburg . In front of over 2500 spectators, they lost 1: 9 in Wiesental at home.
Stadion
On July 27, 1919, the field in Wiesental was inaugurated with a game against the reserves of VfB Stuttgart in front of over 2000 spectators. During the Second World War, the FV Ravensburg played in the stadium in Weingarten, as potatoes and vegetables were grown in the Wiesental. From 1948 the field in Wiesental was available again. In 1951 a new ticket booth and a wooden grandstand were built as part of the renovation of the playing field. In 1981 today's main grandstand was completed. This currently offers space for 512 spectators. After the promotion to the football league Baden-Württemberg in 2012/13, blue seat shells were attached to the main stand over the following years. The stadium in Wiesental has also had a new name since summer 2018. It will be named cteam arena until June 30, 2021 .
