Stefan Buck (born September 3, 1980 in Bad Saulgau ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach . From the 2012/13 to 2014/15 season he was active for FC Bayern Munich II in the Regionalliga Bayern , since then he has been working as a coach in the club's youth division.

Player career

Before moving to Munich in July 2010, he played as a professional for SC Pfullendorf , the amateurs of FC Bayern Munich , SpVgg Unterhaching , Karlsruher SC and FC Augsburg . Before that, he played in youth for FV Altshausen , FV Biberach , FV Ravensburg and FV Bad Saulgau 04 .

Buck played his first games for SC Pfullendorf in 2001 in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg . In the 2004/05 season he was in the squad of the amateur team of FC Bayern Munich and was able to score three goals there, as in his Pfullendorfer Regionalliga time. Buck then moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for SpVgg Unterhaching , where he had a place in the starting eleven right from the start. Buck was soon able to record his first second division goals there, scoring a total of six goals in 32 games in his first professional season.

In the 2006/07 season , Buck played as team captain mostly in defensive midfield. He scored five goals over the course of the season, including a double in a 5-1 win against TSV 1860 Munich . As a result of an injury, he dropped out for most of the second half of the season and was relegated to the regional league with SpVgg.

In February 2007 Buck signed a contract with Karlsruher SC , dated June 30, 2010 , for which he played in the Bundesliga from the 2007/08 season . A toe injury forced him to pause on his first division debut until matchday 12. On May 6, 2008 Buck scored his first Bundesliga goal in a 1-1 draw against Energie Cottbus . On December 6, 2008, he helped KSC to an important home win against Werder Bremen with his 1-0 winning goal, after Baden had been without a win for nine weeks.

On August 31, 2009, FC Augsburg announced the commitment of the defensive player. Buck signed a contract until 2011. With the "Fuggerstädtern" he commuted between the starting lineup and assignments as a substitute and finally took part with the club in the relegation for promotion to the Bundesliga, which was missed.

In July 2010 Buck moved to TSV 1860 Munich . He started the season as a regular on the left defense and was in the further course with the exception of two games in which he had to pause due to injuries in every game in the starting line-up. At the beginning of the second half of the season he was moved from the left full-back position to central defense. After the expiry of his contract at the end of season 2011/12, Stefan Buck moved to the 2012/13 season for Bayern Munich II for which it July 21, 2012 (1st Round) in a 1: 1 draw at home against FC Augsburg II for the first time was used. Before the last regional league game, on May 22, 2015, Buck (along with Tobias Schweinsteiger , Lennart Ingmann, Nikola Jelisic, Daniel Müller, Edwin Schwarz, Kodjovi Koussou , Alexander Sieghart and Bastian Fischer) was bid farewell to FC Bayern Munich, which meant the end of his Football career.

Coaching career

After his playing career, Buck gained his first experience as a junior coach as one of two assistant coaches at the U-15. In January 2016, Buck became the assistant coach of the new U-16 coach Danny Schwarz alongside Christian Saba . After Schwarz became the interim coach of the second team at FC Bayern Munich in March 2017, Buck took over as coach of the U-16s until the end of the season. He then returned to his role as assistant coach of the U-16s, again under head coach Schwarz.

Others

He has been married to actress Sandra Koltai since December 2012 .
