Alexander Schwolow (born June 2, 1992 in Wiesbaden ) is a German soccer goalkeeper who is under contract with Hertha BSC .
Career
society
In his youth Schwolow played at SV Allendorf / Berghausen in the southern Rhein-Lahn district and SV Wehen Wiesbaden . In the summer of 2008, SC Freiburg noticed him at a viewing tournament, whereupon he and his club colleague Tim Albutat moved to the Freiburg football school of SC Freiburg. With the A-youth of SC Freiburg, he won the DFB-Junior-Vereinspokal in the 2010/11 season . In the semifinals against the youngsters from VfL Wolfsburg and in the final against the youngsters from Hansa Rostock , he saved the decisive penalty.
Since the 2010/11 season Schwolow was in the regional league squad of the second team in goal. In January 2012 he received a professional contract with the first team. Since then he has trained with the first team and continued to receive match practice in the second team. In the Bundesliga team he was substitute goalkeeper behind Oliver Baumann . In July 2013, Schwolow extended his long-term contract. On the 34th matchday of the 2013/14 season , he made his Bundesliga debut against Hannover 96 .
For the 2014/15 season , Schwolow moved to the third division for two years, relegated to the second division Arminia Bielefeld . In the second round of the 2014/15 DFB Cup , he saved two penalties in a penalty shoot-out against Hertha BSC . In the quarter-finals against Borussia Mönchengladbach , he parried Ibrahima Traoré's decisive penalty and thus secured Arminia's entry into the semi-finals. At the end of the season Schwolow was third division champion with Arminia and rose to the 2nd Bundesliga . He had been in goal in 37 of 38 games.
After SC Freiburg was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga, Schwolow returned to the Breisgau for the 2015/16 season by contract option one year before the loan period expired and has been the Breisgau's regular goalkeeper ever since. In spring 2016, he won the second division title with Freiburg and was able to return to the Bundesliga with the club. In spring 2017, the goalkeeper played for the first time in the European Cup when he failed with the team against NK Domžale in the qualification for the Europa League . In his final season, 2019/20 , Schwolow fell due to a torn muscle in for two months and was Mark Flekken represented; In eighth place, he completed one of the first division seasons with the sports club and finished 15th in the white vest ranking with a zero rate of 16.7% . Shortly before, he had prematurely extended his contract with SC.
For the 2020/21 season, Schwolow moved to Hertha BSC within the Bundesliga .
National team
In March and April 2010 Schwolow ran in three games for the German U-18 national team . For the U-19 national team , he completed two games. In September 2011 he made his debut for the U-20 national team and played seven games for them by 2013.
