Karim Rekik (born December 2, 1994 in The Hague , Netherlands ) is a Dutch football player who has been under contract with Bundesliga club Hertha BSC since 2017 .

Career

Trained in the youth department of Feyenoord Rotterdam , Rekik moved to the reigning English cup winner Manchester City in the summer of 2011 . In September 2011 he made his debut for the first team in the League Cup under Roberto Mancini . At the end of March 2012 he was loaned to the second division club Portsmouth until the end of the season.

After returning to the Citizens , he made his Premier League debut on December 22, 2012 against Reading FC . From mid-February 2013 he was on loan for the second division Blackburn Rovers before being loaned out directly to the reigning Dutch runner-up PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2013 . In August 2014, the loan was extended for the 2014/15 season.

For the 2015/16 season Rekik moved to the French Ligue 1 to Olympique Marseille .

For the 2017/18 season , Rekik moved to the Bundesliga for Hertha BSC . He made his league debut in a 2-0 home win on August 19, 2017 (1st matchday) against VfB Stuttgart . He scored his first Bundesliga goal in the 2-1 win against Hamburger SV on October 28, 2017 (10th matchday).
