As a student, Vladimír Darida came to Viktoria Plzen , where he went through all youth teams and was called up for the first team in the 2009/10 season. On April 24, 2010 he made his debut in the Gambrinus Liga , the highest Czech division. In the following year he was also nominated for the professional team, but was only used once in the first half of the season. For the second half of the season he was loaned to the second division club FK Baník Sokolov , where he got more match practice and scored five goals as a central midfielder. In the meantime, Pilsen had taken first place in the first division and so Darida returned to the reigning Czech champions for the 2011/12 season. On matchday four, Darida got his first chance over 90 minutes, but was only a substitute after that. Only after the winter break did he get back into the starting line-up, but then remained a regular in the defensive midfield until the end of the season, when the club reached 3rd place in the championship.

Viktoria Pilsen qualified for the UEFA Champions League in six games in July and August 2011 , Darida made a brief appearance. After he had only sat on the bench in the CL group stage on September 13, 2011, in a 1-1 draw against BATE Borisov , he made his Champions League debut on September 28, 2011 when he played in the second group game, in the 0-2 defeat against AC Milan , in the first minute of stoppage time for Daniel Kolář came on . In the second leg at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium , in which a 2-2 victory was achieved, he was on the field for the first time internationally for more than an hour. Pilsen was in third place at the end of the group stage and thus qualified for the UEFA Europa League . In the round of the last 32 they met FC Schalke 04 . Darida scored his first European Cup goal on February 16, 2012, when he scored 1-0 in the first leg in Pilsen; the first leg ended 1: 1. On August 28, 2013 Darida moved to SC Freiburg . Even if the club did not confirm the amount of the transfer, it is considered certain that it is the most expensive transfer in the Freiburg club's history. According to media reports, it cost just under four million euros. After Darida was initially unable to play for his new club due to an injury, he was only substituted on the 11th matchday against 1. FC Nürnberg and scored the 2-0 intermediate result (final result 3-0). The goal was voted the goal of the match day and the second most beautiful goal of the entire first half of the season. In the 2014/2015 season he scored six goals in 31 games for Freiburg.

Hertha BSC

For the 2015/16 season Darid moved to the Bundesliga club Hertha BSC . He scored his first goal for Hertha on September 27, 2015 in the league game against Eintracht Frankfurt with the goal to make it 1-1. His contract runs until 2021.
