Jan Rezek (born May 5, 1982 in Teplice ) is a Czech football player .
Club career
Jan Rezek started playing football with Sokol Brezno, in 1995 he moved to Chomutov . Two years later he was signed by FK Teplice . In early 2002, Teplice loaned the then 19-year-old striker back to Chomutov. In the second division Rezek scored four goals in 13 games, whereupon he was brought back from FK Teplice for the 2002/03 season and was included in the first division squad. In his first season in the first division, the attacker scored two goals in 23 games, but mostly did not play through. Rezek drew attention to himself in the autumn of 2003 when he scored against both 1. FC Kaiserslautern and Feyenoord Rotterdam in the UEFA Cup , ensuring that his team progressed. In the first half of the 2003/04 season he played 13 league games and scored one goal.
In January 2004 he was signed by Sparta Prague . In ten games for the capital club, he only managed one goal. In the same year, the striker injured himself and subsequently failed to make contact with the first team. He spent the second half of the 2004/05 season with the B-Team Spartas in the 2nd division, where he scored two goals in 14 games.
At Sparta Prague with little prospects, Rezek moved in August 2005 to the then Russian second division club FK Kuban Krasnodar , where the former Czech national coach Jozef Chovanec worked. In Krasnodar , the Czech signed a two and a half year contract. When Krasnodar missed the targeted promotion in late 2005, Chovanec left the club. After three months of preparation in early 2006, Krasnodar signed four strikers on the last possible transfer day, Rezek rarely played in the big competition.
In June 2006 he moved back to the Gambrinus League to Viktoria Pilsen , where coach Michal Bílek had shown particular interest in him. Rezek played six times in Pilsen and scored two goals in the game against Sigma Olmütz on September 10, 2006. Two weeks earlier, Coach Bílek had switched to Sparta Prague, and now he wanted Rezek with him again, who was already on loan from Sparta Prague on September 18, 2006 in the match against his former club FK Teplice. Rezek scored three goals in 31 games for Sparta.
In February 2008 Rezek moved to Bohemians 1905 on loan until the end of the season . In early July 2008 the attacker moved to his former club Viktoria Pilsen.
Since July 2011 he has played for Anorthosis Famagusta FC in Cyprus.
National team
Jan Rezek played twice for the Czech U21 national team. He made his debut on April 29, 2003 at 1-1 in Turkey, he played 37 minutes. In the 2-1 win against Switzerland in Basel on November 15, 2003, he came on in the 89th minute for Václav Svěrkoš .
