Lucas Tousart (born April 29, 1997 in Arras ) is a French football player . The defensive midfielder has been under contract with Hertha BSC since July 2020 .

Career

Tousart started playing football at the age of six in Rignac with the local JS du Pays Rignacois and continued it a year later at US Pays Rignacois . After six seasons, Rodez AF signed him from the town of the same name . Three years later, Valenciennes FC signed him . Out of adolescence, he moved up to the second team in 2014, for which he completed a season. For the first team he made his debut on January 24, 2015 (21st matchday) in the 1: 2 defeat in the second division home game against Tours FC . He played 16 more point games in his debut season and another in the following season, before he was signed by league rivals first division Olympique Lyon on August 31, 2015, on the last day of the transfer window . He made his Ligue 1 debut on December 5, 2015 against Angers SCO .

At the end of January 2020, Bundesliga club Hertha BSC acquired the transfer rights to Tousart, who remained on loan at Olympique Lyon until the end of the 2019/20 season . In every season that was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic , he was used in 24 league games (19 times from the start) and scored 2 goals. He also played 7 times in the Champions League , scoring the 1-0 win in the first leg of the first leg against Juventus Turin . Since the Champions League could not be continued after that, the remaining games were postponed to August. By moving to Berlin on July 1st, Tousart could no longer take part in the competition.

For the 2020/21 season, Tousart finally moved to Hertha BSC.

National team

He made his debut for the U21 national team on November 10, 2016 in Beauvais in a 5-1 win in the international test match against the Ivory Coast national team .
