The sixth edition of the East Asian Football Championship , officially EAFF East Asian Cup in 2015 , was in 2015 held in China. Four teams from the East Asian region qualified for the finals. Of these, South Korea , China and Japan already set. North Korea qualified for fourth place .

The qualifying round was played out in two group phases. In a pre-qualification, the four worst teams played for a free place in the second round. The other three teams not seeded for the final round also took part in this. The winner qualified for the final round. The East Asian champions were determined through group matches.

mode

Each team played once against each other team in the group in the respective group stage. A win was rated with three points, a tie with one point. If two or more teams have the same points, the following criteria are decisive:

  1. better goal difference;
  2. higher number of goals scored;
  3. higher number of points from games between teams with equal points and goals;
  4. better goal difference from these games;
  5. higher number of goals scored from these games;
  6. Drawing of lots.

The first qualifying matches were played in Harmon, Guam . The second qualifying round took place in Taipei , Taiwan .
