The South Korean U-17 national soccer team is a selection team of South Korean soccer players . It is subject to the Korea Football Association and represents them internationally at the U-17 level , for example in friendly matches against the national teams of other national associations, at the U-16 Asian Cup and the U-17 World Cup .

The team became Asian champions in 1986 and 2002 and vice-Asian champions in 2008 and 2014 . At world championships she reached the quarter-finals in Canada in 1987 and in Nigeria in 2009 , losing to Italy and the reigning world champion, host and later vice-world champion Nigeria , respectively . At her home World Cup in 2007 , she was eliminated in the preliminary round.
