The Omani U-17 national soccer team is a selection team of Omani soccer players . It is subject to the Oman Football Association and represents it internationally at the U-17 level , for example in friendly matches against the national teams of other national associations, at the U-16 Asian Cup and U-17 World Cup .

The team became Asian champions in 1996 and 2000 and came third in 1994 . Her best result at a world championship was fourth in 1995 . She had won in the preliminary round against the German team , which was eliminated. In the quarterfinals she won against the reigning world champion Nigeria . In the semifinals she was defeated by eventual world champions Ghana . The subsequent game for third place she lost to Argentina . In 1997 , the team reached the quarter-finals again, but lost it against the Ghanaian team, which was defeated in the final by the Omani group opponent Brazil . In 2001 , the Omani U-17 were eliminated in the group stage, behind Argentina, Burkina Faso and Spain , where they only reached a draw against Burkina Faso.
