The fifth U-17 soccer Asian championship was held in 1992 in Saudi Arabia . The tournament was played in September 1992. Winner was China with a victory in the penalty shootout against Qatar . The two finalists qualified for the 1993 U-17 World Cup .

qualification

Saudi Arabia was set to host the finals. The other nations determined the other participants in five groups.
