The second U-16 soccer Asian championship was held in 1986 in Qatar . The tournament started on November 15th and ended on November 22nd . The winner was South Korea with a victory on penalties to the hosts . The two finalists qualified for the U-16 World Cup in 1987 .

The registered teams played the eight finalists. The host of the final round was selected from among the qualified nations.
