The twelfth U-17 Asian Football Championship was held in Singapore in 2006 . The tournament started on September 3rd and ended on September 17th . The winner was Japan with a 4: 2 victory after extra time against North Korea . The two finalists qualified with the two losing semi-finalists Tajikistan and Syria for the U-17 World Cup in 2007 .

Result
The finalists Japan and North Korea as well as the two defeated semi-finalists Tajikistan and Syria qualified alongside hosts South Korea for the 2007 U-17 World Cup .
