Bouray-sur-Juine is a municipality in the department of Essonne in the region of Ile-de-France in France . It has 2,184 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). Bouray-sur-Juine belongs to the Arrondissement of Étampes and the Canton of Arpajon (until 2015: Canton of Étréchy ). The inhabitants are called Bouraysia .
geography
Bouray-sur-Juine is located on the banks of the Juine River about 37 kilometers south of central Paris . The municipality is located in the Gâtinais français Regional Nature Park . It is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lardy in the north and northwest, Saint-Vrain in the north and northeast, Itteville in the east and southeast, Cerny in the south and southeast and Janville-sur-Juine in the west and southwest.
history
The municipality is named after the landlord Pierre de Bouray, who lived here in the 13th century in what was then the castle or castle Mesnil-Voisin.
