Morigny-Champigny is a French municipality with 4346 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Essonne in the region of Ile-de-France ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Étampes and is part of the canton of Étampes . The inhabitants are called Morignacois .
geography
Morigny-Champigny is located about 48 kilometers southwest of Paris on the Juine River . Montigny-Champigny is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Étréchy in the north, Auvers-Saint-Georges in the northeast, Bouville in the east, Puiselet-le-Marais in the southeast, La Forêt-Sainte-Croix in the south, Étampes in the west and southwest and Brières-les -Scellés in the northwest.

In 1793 the community was formed; In 1807 Champigny was incorporated.
