geography
Baulne is located about 40 kilometers south of Paris on the banks of the Essonne River , which also forms the western municipal boundary. The municipality is located in the Gâtinais français Regional Nature Park . Baulne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Itteville in the north and west, Ballancourt-sur-Essonne in the north and northeast, Champcueil in the east and northeast, Mondeville in the east, Videlles in the southeast, La Ferté-Alais in the south and Cerny in the west and southwest.
