Saclas is a French commune with 1,806 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Essonne in the region of Ile-de-France ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Étampes and is part of the canton of Étampes (until 2015: canton of Méréville ). The inhabitants are called Saclasia .
geography
Saclas is located about 65 kilometers south-southwest of Paris on the Juine . Saclas is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Étampes in the north, Boissy-la-Rivière in the northeast, Saint-Cyr-la-Rivière in the east, Le Mérévillois in the south and Guillerval in the west.
