Champmotteux is a French municipality with 368 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Essonne in the region of Ile-de-France ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Étampes and is part of the canton of Étampes (until 2015: canton of Méréville ). The inhabitants are called Champmottois .

Champmotteux is about 57 kilometers south of Paris . The municipality is located in the Gâtinais français Regional Nature Park . Champmotteux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mespuits in the north and north-west, Gironville-sur-Essonne in the north and north-east, Prunay-sur-Essonne in the east and north-east, Boigneville in the east, Le Malesherbois with Nangeville in the south and Brouy in the west and south-west.
