Brières-les-Scellés is located about 45 kilometers south-southwest of Paris . Brières-les-Scellés is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Villeconin in the north, Étréchy in the northeast, Morigny-Champigny in the east, Étampes in the south and Boissy-le-Sec in the west.

Finds from the Paleolithic testify an early settlement of the area.
Brières-les-Scellés is first mentioned in the 10th century. The Mace of the family owned since the late 15th century to the end of the Ancien Régime , the basic rule in place.
