The inhabitants are called Bucussia .

Boissy-la-Rivière is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ormoy-la-Rivière in the north, Étampes in the north and north-east, La Forêt-Sainte-Croix in the east, Marolles-en-Beauce in the east and south-east, Fontaine-la-Rivière in the south , Saint-Cyr-la-Rivière in the southwest and Saclas in the west.
