Boissy-la-Rivière is a French municipality with 526 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Essonne in the region of Ile-de-France ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Étampes and is part of the canton of Étampes (until 2015: canton of Méréville ). The inhabitants are called Bucussia .

Boissy-la-Rivière is located about 56 kilometers south-southwest of Paris on the Juine . Boissy-la-Rivière is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ormoy-la-Rivière in the north, Étampes in the north and north-east, La Forêt-Sainte-Croix in the east, Marolles-en-Beauce in the east and south-east, Fontaine-la-Rivière in the south , Saint-Cyr-la-Rivière in the southwest and Saclas in the west.
