Suk Hyun-jun (born June 29, 1991 in Chungju ), known in German-speaking countries by the name sequence Hyun-Jun Suk , is a South Korean football player.
Career
Ajax Amsterdam
The move to Europe from Suks from South Korea, where he played for Yong-In FC in the K3 League, turned out to be rather unusual. Together with his manager Park Jin-ho, he decided to fly to England in the 2009 transfer window, where he introduced himself to some of the Premier League clubs. This was unsuccessful and Suk's path led him to Amsterdam , where he spoke to then coach Martin Jol as a spectator at the training of the AFC Ajax . The granted him a longer trial training after he had heard that Suk was a youth international. He was convincing and then received a youth contract. When he scored his goal game after game for the Jong Oranje youth team , Ajax signed a professional contract with him in early 2010.
On February 3, 2010, the 1.90 meter tall striker made his debut against Roda JC Kerkrade . Two more appearances in the league followed by the end of the season. He also came in two games against Juventus in the Europa League used. After he had not played in competitive games in the first team in the 2010/11 season - except for one half in the Supercup game against FC Twente - and his contract was not extended, his former coach from Jong Ajax , Pieter Huistra , brought him , for the 2011/12 season for FC Groningen , with whom he signed a two-year contract. After Suk started for Madeira- based Portuguese first division team Marítimo Funchal in the 2013 spring series , he moved to al-Ahli in the Saudi Professional League in the summer of that year .
For the 2016/17 season he was loaned to the Turkish first division club Trabzonspor . This was followed by further loans to Debreceni Vasutas SC and ES Troyes AC . In 2018 Suk moved to Stade Reims . In January 2020 he left Reims to rejoin ES Troyes AC.
National team
At the age of 14 Suk was selected for a national selection for the first time, played in the U-14 and U-15. He had already competed for the U-18 and U-20 national teams of South Korea before coming to Amsterdam. Then he was also used in the U-21 selection. On September 7, 2010, Suk made his debut in the South Korean senior team in a friendly against Iran .
