Son Heung-min ( kor. 손흥 민 , born July 8, 1992 in Chuncheon ), known in German-speaking countries under the customary name sequence Heung-Min Son , is a South Korean football player . He has been under contract with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League since the 2015/16 season and can be used as a center and winger.

Son came to the Hanseatic city in 2008 as part of a cooperation between Hamburger SV and the South Korean Football Association, together with his two compatriots Jong-Pil Kim and Min-Hyeok Kim , to visit the club's own football internat . Son played in the 2008-09 season in the Junior B league , where he had once in the A-Junior Bundesliga was used. In the 2009/10 season he played firmly in the A youth . For the 2010/11 season, Son moved up to the professional squad and on his 18th birthday received a professional contract valid until 2012. Shortly before the start of the 2010/11 season , Son broke his metatarsus in a friendly against Chelsea after scoring the winning goal to make it 2-1, and was out for six weeks. He made his competitive debut on October 27, 2010 in the DFB-Pokal game against Eintracht Frankfurt . He played his first Bundesliga game three days later against 1. On August 28, 2015, Son moved to the English first division club Tottenham Hotspur . He signed a contract valid until 2020. Here the South Korean was able to quickly develop a regular position as a back-up for center forward Harry Kane and regularly played in the European Cup with the Londoners. In the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League , Son reached the final with Tottenham, but lost to league rivals Liverpool there . In mid-February 2020, the winger broke his arm in the league game against Aston Villa and was out for a long time. On May 9, 2014, he was appointed to the provisional squad of the South Korean national soccer team for the 2014 World Cup by coach Myung-Bo Hong . On June 17, 2014 in the first game against Russia in the Arena Pantanal in Cuiabá , which ended 1: 1, Son was elected Man of the Match .

In January 2015 he took part again in the Asian Cup in Australia and achieved the silver medal with South Korea. In the final against Australia he scored the interim equalization to 1: 1 in stoppage time of regular time.
