Japhet Manzambi Tanganga (born March 31, 1999 in London ) is an English football player who plays as a defender at Tottenham Hotspur .

Career

Tanganga was born in the London Borough of Hackney to a family with roots in the Democratic Republic of the Congo . He attended Greig City Academy and joined Tottenham Youth Academy at the age of 10. In June 2019, his contract with Tottenham was extended to 2020. On September 24, 2019, he made his professional football debut at the Carabao Cup at Colchester United . On January 11, 2020, he made his Premier League debut at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Liverpool FC . Three days later he played the full 90 minutes against Middlesbrough FC in a replay of the FA Cup game, which the Spurs won 2-1 and Tanganga was named man of the game.
